The latest issue of the Army Times Vet-Letter, published in Washington, D. C., contains a news item of interest to survivors of veterans. Eligible survivors of a veteran who died within three years after discharge, 1946, are entitled to receive retroactive Social Security insurance benefits as of and from the date of his death. In order to receive these benefits, however, application must be made on or before February 10, 1947. Anyone desiring further information should contact the Nashville Social Security Administration or W. L. Lockhart, Donelson 110-J, American Legion Post 88 Service Officer.

No Fishing --
The recent heavy rains formed a pool of water in the excavation site between the Bank of Donelson and Jaynes Market. No sooner had the pool been formed than an unknown wag, suspected to be Dr. Robart Steele, promptly erected a sign of the times reading "No fishin'."
Scouts Attend Course
The Girl Scouts, the Brownies, and their leaders are attending a six-weeks' Folktivities Course which begun Saturday at Peabody Gymnasium. Instruction is given from 10 a.m. to 12 o'clock in folk dances, songs, games, and customs of other countries. The Donelson Troop was represented by 12 members at the first meeting.
Re-Model Interior
The interior of the Bank of Donelson is now being re-modeled and re-painted.
Serve as Ushers
Looking very chic in their formals, six Donelson junior-misses, Peggy Dodson, Marilyn Eakes, Edna Grace Nunley, Peggy Padgett, Joyce Ragan, and Ann Wasson, served as ushers Wednesday evening at the Community Playhouse production, "Rain."
