As a neighbor and homeowner in Bluefields since 2007 and previous Board and Officer of BHA, I would like to personally thank the 2013/2014 Board and volunteers as well as the Smartgrowth team for the improvements and successes to date that include blocking the Cell Phone Tower, the fantastic upgrades to our street intersection triangles and the historic recognition/grant efforts to name a few. It both maddened and saddened me to see the déjà vu events of last night unfold. Honestly, that is the cause for why I have been relatively absent from BHA for the past two years, I needed to step away for many of the reasons and attitudes exhibited last night.
Seeing a possible beacon of light after the Smartgrowth successes and improvements along what I thought was an excellent slate of nominees for the 2015 BHA Board, I was encouraged. Well, unfortunately that was short lived. BHA is no longer something I feel comfortable supporting in its current form and a lack of forwarding thinking, positive trajectory. I do hope that those of you with this wonderful new energy and enthusiasm for our streets, homes and neighbors continue to rally for positive change and make a difference. My sincere gratitude.
