A group of at least 75 Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and Brownies is expected to be on hand June 17 when Donelson’s first Day Camp is opened for a four-week period in an area directly behind the Swiss Farm Dairy.
In operation from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the Camp is planned to offer instruction in many crafts associated with Scout work.
Baseball, basketball, volleyball, archery and swimming are athletics which will be stressed. Use of the Swiss Farm pool for swimming has been arranged.
The Day Camp will be under the supervision of Mrs. Jack Ward but each individual group will be headed by an adult leader.
The Boy Scout troop is planning to use the area on overnight camping trips.
A Nashville concern has donated use of two large tents and efforts are being made to secure other forms of shelter.
The Camp will be closed July 12.
