The new square milk bottles, which are designed to add much more space to the household refrigerator, will appear on Swiss Farm Dairy routes for the first time on June 4.
Designed to eliminate space lost in the curving surfaces, the bottles will also add to the refrigerator capacity by being one inch shorter than the standard bottle now in use. The neck will also be smaller, taking a smaller cap, and the bottles make less noise.
The bottles will be of clear glass with no printing on the sides. By being unlabeled, milk distributors will eliminate the exchange of bottles which is now in effect.
